Parents Association

 Welcome to Norbury Hall PA

Another brilliant Christmas Fair was well attended on December 7th and we managed to raise another £3,000 to support school activities. A huge thank you to everyone who managed to make it possible and congratulations to the new PA Team for making it happen.

Norbury Hall Parents Association are a small group who voluntarily get involved with fun activities and events, to help raise much needed additional funds for our school. The collective effort and contribution of the PA makes a genuine difference to what Norbury Hall can offer its learners.

Our school receives an allocation of funds from the local education authority, via central government for essential running costs and other expenditure required for the school to operate. Unfortunately, these are not adequate to provide additional resources, which enhance the learning environment for our children.

All funds raised by the PA support the school which helps us to provide extras that we could not normally afford. Around £12,000 a year is raised by the group and in recent years these funds have paid for: the chicken coop, library aquarium and maintenance, annual Education City licence, defibrillator and training for 8 staff, digital cameras and audio equipment, sports day supplies and equipment, Christmas party refreshments, first aid courses for all Year 5 and annual Year 6 leaving events. Current PA funded plans are in progress to further develop the outdoor curriculum with tools, resources and essentials like waterproofs and clip boards and a covered all weather outdoor learning area.

The academic year starts with an AGM, which is a necessary formality as the PA is a registered charity. There are only a further 3 PA meetings each year, which are usually held at the Fiveways Pub. Attendance is voluntary, but it’s a good way of keeping up to date with events, collaborating and seeing how you may like to get involved. These are fun and informal gatherings to plan seasonal events.

All communication from the PA is well publicised on the ‘What’s On’ PA notice boards in the infant and junior playgrounds and the main office notice board, via text messaging, letters in book bags and on the Norbury Hall PA Facebook page.

Every parent is invited and welcome to get involved in the PA. It’s fun, rewarding and whether you have skills and ideas to offer, or you simply just care about the school, is all that is needed. As much, or as little as you are able to contribute – all help is valued, appreciated and makes you part of this great team.

Thank you!

In 2018/19 we raised approximately £16000 – this was record breaking for us – a brilliant return after some very hard work from our amazing team. Thank you to Karen, Jo, Samantha and Kathryn for leading on the year’s events and making things happen.

All of that comes from the hard work of the parents who help to run the events, and from the support of the parents and friends who come to our events and support us. To all of you, on behalf of the children and staff, we say THANK YOU!
