What a week that was…..

After what feels like one of the busiest weeks in school it is lovely to have an opportunity to sit down and reflect on this week’s achievements.  Not only have we welcomed the early summer sunshine we have also welcomed our seven new feathered friends in the chicken coop and another less feathery family of blue tits that have hatched from their eggs since last Sunday.  It seems that all our new additions are thriving and enjoying their welcome to the Norbury Family.

Some of our new additions.

Some of our new additions…

For those learners who are our most experienced the week has proven to be a personal triumph for everyone of them.  SATs week eventually arrived after much anticipation and indeed, speculation. Amidst complicated texts and questions to make your head itch the children continued to conduct themselves in a mature and confident manner.  Each one of them tackled the unknown questions with a positive attitude and were a true credit to our lovely school.

What has this week taught our Year 6 learners?  It has taught them that they can be resilient, that they can take comfort in being around good friends and that despite the pressure felt of getting it all right, at the end of the day, this week is just a snapshot of  who they truly are.  What they truly are – are superstars!  We are all very proud of them!

Around school we had the additional buzz of superheroes in Key Stage 1 and Early Years.  Spiderman graced us with his company and was seen on the infant adventure playground several times.  Apparently he was accompanied by a few cat women and a batman or two!

Year Four took advantage of the brilliant sunshine on Thursday afternoon and raised further monies to help maintain the keep of their chicken with draws to enter and pots to purchase.  They are still counting up the total to see what profit they’ve made.

As we prepare for the weekend the school feels like a hive of industry.  Learners busy with their investigations and enquiries and teachers engaging and motivating with their eggstra special ideas.

Let’s hope the sunshine stays for a little while longer.

Have a lovely weekend.
